Govinda Hospitalized After Accidental Gunshot, Now Recovering
Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda was recently hospitalized following an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Juhu residence. According to Mumbai Police, the incident occurred on October 1, when the actor’s licensed revolver misfired, striking him in the knee.
The 60-year-old star, famous for his comedic roles and charm in the 90s and early 2000s, was preparing for a flight to Kolkata early in the morning. As Govinda was getting ready to leave around 4:45 am, the revolver accidentally fell from a cupboard and discharged.
Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, shared details of the incident, saying, “We had a 6 am flight to Kolkata for a show. As Govinda ji was about to leave his residence, the revolver fell and misfired. Thankfully, by God’s grace, the injury was minor.”
The actor was promptly taken to Criticare Hospital in Juhu, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. Govinda’s condition is stable, and he has since returned home to recover.
In a heartfelt message to his fans, Govinda expressed gratitude for their support, saying, “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors and appreciate your prayers. The blessings of my fans, parents, and my guru kept me safe.”
