Cutting-Edge Design and Capabilities
Changan’s electric jetpack features a triple-turbine electric engine, offering vertical lift for up to 30 minutes and can reach altitudes of up to 1,000 feet. Designed with both safety and maneuverability in mind, it incorporates a central harness system, dual-propeller arms, and joystick-style controls for precise navigation.
Images from the event show a sleek, compact frame, suggesting it’s built for personal transport. However, details such as payload capacity and regulatory approvals have not yet been disclosed.
Investing in the Sky: Changan’s Vision
The unveiling of the jetpack is part of Changan’s growing focus on low-altitude aerial mobility. This journey began with a strategic partnership signed with eVTOL in December 2024. At that time, Chairman Zhu Huarong announced a $2.7 billion investment into the aerial transport sector over five years.
Looking ahead, Changan aims to boost that figure to over $13.9 billion by 2035, expanding into land, sea, air, and robotic mobility platforms. This aligns with the company’s long-term goal of creating integrated smart transportation solutions for the modern world.
