According to the Punjab Transport Department, Faisalabad will receive 150 electric buses in total, with the first phase rolling out 30 buses. The eco-friendly vehicles will operate on two key routes:

  • A 22-kilometre track from Yousaf Town to Sagle City

  • An 18-kilometre route from University Roundabout to Sadhar

Officials estimate that the new service will facilitate over 24,000 passengers daily, providing a clean, modern, and affordable alternative to traditional transport.

The Electro Buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, mobile charging ports, CCTV cameras, and separate compartments for women. Additional seating has been reserved for senior citizens and differently-abled passengers. To keep the service accessible, the fare has been fixed at Rs. 20 per ride.

Charging stations have already been set up across the city to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations. Authorities say the initiative reflects the government’s broader push to modernize urban mobility and cut down air pollution.

With this launch, Faisalabad officially joins the growing list of Pakistani cities embracing sustainable transport solutions, positioning itself as a model for future public mobility projects.
