Babar Azam Registers Unwanted PSL Record; Multan Sultans Launch Charitable Initiative for Palestine

RAWALPINDI — Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam faced a difficult outing in his team’s second match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, as he was dismissed without scoring against Quetta Gladiators. The match, held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, saw Zalmi fall short by 80 runs while chasing a challenging target of 217 runs.

Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck by Mohammad Amir, marking an unfortunate milestone in his PSL career. He now ranks third on the list of players with the most ducks in PSL history. This list is led by Imad Wasim of Islamabad United, who has been dismissed for zero 12 times, followed by Wahab Riaz with 10 ducks. Babar now shares the third spot with Kamran Akmal, both having been out for a duck eight times, while Shaheen Afridi follows with seven.

In the match, Peshawar Zalmi’s batting line-up struggled under pressure. Mohammad Haris managed just 13 runs, while Tom Kohler-Cadmore also departed without scoring. The Gladiators’ bowlers dominated the innings, with Abrar Ahmed taking four wickets, and Mohammad Amir and Usman Tariq picking up two wickets each. Zalmi were eventually bowled out for 136 runs in 15.1 overs.

Team captain Mohammad Rizwan announced at the toss ahead of their match against Karachi Kings that the franchise will donate PKR 100,000 for every six hit during their matches.

Additionally, the Sultans will contribute another PKR 100,000 for every wicket taken by their bowlers throughout PSL 10. This campaign will run for the entire duration of the tournament, which spans 34 matches from April 11 to May 18.
