KP Rescue Helicopter Crashes During Relief Mission, Three Dead

A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Rescue Mi-17 helicopter crashed in Sokai near Chengai Banda, claiming the lives of three crew members.

KP Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah confirmed that the aircraft was on its way to Bajaur for flood relief operations when contact was lost due to adverse weather conditions.

The KP Chief Minister stated that rescue teams have reached the crash site, while another government helicopter is assisting with ongoing relief work in Buner district.

Meanwhile, flash floods in the Jabrarai area of Salarzai Tehsil, Bajaur, have caused severe damage, sweeping away roads, bridges, and multiple homes.

Rescue officials reported that 21 bodies have been recovered so far, with seven people still missing. Three injured victims received emergency treatment before being moved to the hospital. Search operations are continuing to locate the missing.
