Kyle Schwarber Smashes 4 Home Runs in Historic Night for Phillies

Philadelphia Phillies star Kyle Schwarber had a night to remember on Thursday, blasting four home runs in a single game against the Atlanta Braves. The slugger became only the 21st player in MLB history — and the fourth in Phillies’ history — to achieve the incredible feat.

Schwarber went 4-for-6 with a team-record nine RBIs, powering the Phillies to a dominant 19-4 victory. With this performance, he now leads the National League with 49 home runs, just one shy of Seattle’s Cal Raleigh for the MLB lead. He also tops the majors with a career-high 119 RBIs this season.

“It’s pretty cool,” Schwarber said after the game. “It was a fun night, great atmosphere, and I couldn’t have asked for better teammates to share it with.”

The last Phillies player to hit four homers in a single game was Mike Schmidt in 1976, making Schwarber’s performance even more historic. This was also the third four-homer game in MLB this season, following Eugenio Suárez and Nick Kurtz.

Schwarber’s first homer came in the opening inning, sending a curveball from Cal Quantrill into the right-field seats. From there, the power surge never stopped, cementing his place in Phillies history.

With the postseason approaching, Schwarber’s red-hot bat is giving Philadelphia fans plenty of reason to be excited.
