Nepal Confirmed for 2025 Top End T20 Series in Australia
DARWIN: Nepal has been officially announced as the first international team to participate in the 2025 Top End T20 Series, scheduled to take place in Darwin, Australia, from August 14 to 24. The series will serve as a key part of Nepal’s preparation for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers.
The upcoming tournament will see Nepal play at least six T20 matches at major venues including DXC Arena, TIO Stadium, and Cazaly’s Arena.
Valuable Preparation for World Cup Qualifiers
Paras Khadka, Secretary of the Cricket Association of Nepal, expressed optimism about the opportunity:
“We are excited and looking forward to participating in the Top End T20 Series. It’s a valuable chance to train and compete with strong intent ahead of our T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Oman this October.”
He also emphasized that playing in Australian conditions will provide Nepal’s players with vital experience and help them grow as professional athletes.
Coaching & Recent Performances
Earlier this year, former Australian cricketer Stuart Law was appointed as Nepal’s head coach. Since then, Nepal competed in a T20I tri-series against the Netherlands and Scotland in Glasgow, where they secured a second-place finish.
Upcoming Fixtures: A Busy Schedule Ahead
After the Darwin series, Nepal is set to make history by playing their first-ever bilateral T20I series against the West Indies, scheduled for late September in Sharjah.

Gavin Dovey, CEO of Northern Territory Cricket, welcomed the announcement:
“We couldn’t be more excited to host the Nepal national team in the Top End T20 Series for the first time. Nepal’s growing fan base, both at home and internationally, will bring tremendous energy and attention to the Northern Territory.”
He added that the series will offer global exposure and help build stronger international ties through cricket.
