PM Shehbaz Sharif Expresses Solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Qatar Amid Rising Regional Tensions
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Tuesday, amid heightened regional tensions following reports of missile strikes on a U.S. military base in Qatar.
In two separate meetings held in Islamabad, the Prime Minister met with the Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malkiy and Qatari Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater to discuss the evolving security landscape in the Middle East.
Strong Diplomatic Engagements
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the engagements came in the wake of missile attacks reportedly linked to escalating geopolitical developments in the Gulf region.
During his meeting with the Saudi envoy, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the Kingdom to promote peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Prime Minister also extended his prayers and good wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reaffirming that Pakistan stands with the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.
Solidarity with Qatar
In a separate meeting with the Qatari Ambassador, PM Shehbaz expressed solidarity with the Amir of Qatar and the Qatari people in light of the reported missile strike on a U.S. base located in the country.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s support for peaceful solutions and diplomatic engagement to address regional challenges.
