PTCL Restores Internet After Major Fault, Services Back Online Nationwide

Internet Services Restored Across Pakistan After PTCL Fault

Internet services across Pakistan were restored early Wednesday following a fault in the PTCL network that disrupted connectivity for nearly eight hours, affecting users of PTCL and its subsidiary Ufone.

A PTCL spokesperson confirmed that the network issue has been resolved and all services are now fully operational. The company thanked customers for their patience during the disruption.

The fault reportedly originated in PTCL’s distribution network in Karachi late Tuesday night, causing widespread interruptions in internet supply. Technical teams worked through the night to fix the problem, restoring services around 5 a.m. Wednesday. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also assisted in resolving the outage.

PTA officials clarified that while some segments of PTCL’s network experienced service disruption, the entire network was not down. Networks such as Transworld and Multinet remained fully operational, though streams relying on PTCL’s backbone were impacted.

Global internet monitoring group NetBlocks confirmed the large-scale outage, reporting that about 20 percent of Pakistan’s internet connectivity was affected, with PTCL experiencing the most significant impact.
