Islamabad-Rawalpindi to Get Modern High-Speed Train Service
ISLAMABAD – A high-level meeting chaired by Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday approved plans for a modern and fast train service connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Key Features of the Project
Officials confirmed that the new service will run between Margalla Station in Islamabad and Saddar Station in Rawalpindi, reducing travel time between the twin cities to approximately 20 minutes.

The Ministry of Railways will provide the existing track infrastructure.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will manage train operations.

The framework agreement for the project is expected to be finalized and signed next week.
Authorities stressed that work on the project will be carried out on a priority basis.
