Russia Confirms Viral Video of President Putin Threatening Pakistan is Fake
  Oct 30, 2025

The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan has officially dismissed a viral video circulating on social media that falsely claims to show President Vladimir Putin threatening Pakistan amid recent tensions with Afghanistan.

According to the embassy, the viral clip — widely shared by some users on X (formerly Twitter) — is “100% fake” and manipulated to spread misinformation.

📹 The Truth Behind the Viral Video

The misleading video was edited to appear as if President Putin was issuing warnings to Pakistan while expressing support for Afghanistan. However, Russian officials confirmed that no such statement was ever made.

The original footage actually shows Putin speaking to journalists after a meeting of the Russian Geographical Society’s Board of Trustees on October 23, 2025. During that interaction, Pakistan or Afghanistan were never mentioned.

🗣️ Russia’s Official Response

In an official statement, the Russian Embassy in Islamabad strongly condemned the spread of the fake video, labeling it deliberate misinformation aimed at creating unnecessary tensions.

The embassy reaffirmed that Russia values its friendly and cooperative relations with both Pakistan and Afghanistan, emphasizing that Moscow continues to support peaceful dialogue and regional stability.

🌍 Russia Urges Caution Against Misinformation

Officials urged social media users and media outlets to verify sources before sharing unverified content online. The embassy reiterated that spreading false narratives can harm diplomatic ties and fuel misunderstandings between nations.
