Work Started on Major Road Project in Rawalpindi

Foundation Stone Laid for Ratta Road Project in Rawalpindi

In a major step towards improving local infrastructure, Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi laid the foundation stone for the Ratta Road development project on Thursday in Rawalpindi.

The project, which includes road construction and drainage rehabilitation, will be supervised by National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) and implemented by the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation. Completion is expected within approximately one and a half months.

Residents and local business owners have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a much-needed response to long-standing infrastructure concerns in the area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Abbasi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public service.

“We are dedicated to enhancing roads and streets throughout the city. Development is only possible with the cooperation of the community,” he said.

He further emphasized that such initiatives reflect PML-N’s focus on action over promises, and represent a broader mission to uplift the living standards of citizens through sustainable urban development.
