Punjab Education Department to Take Action Against Poor-Performing Schools and Teachers
The Punjab Education Department has directed the preparation of detailed lists of schools and teachers whose students have shown poor performance in 9th and 10th-grade examinations.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, in a statement issued on Thursday, said that this is the first time the department is compiling such lists. He emphasized that teachers with consistently weak results will face strict action, including possible termination from service.
The minister noted that despite the government’s heavy investment of public funds, substandard academic results cannot be tolerated.
He further announced that while accountability measures will be taken against poor performance, teachers who deliver excellent results will also be recognized and rewarded. This dual approach aims to raise overall academic standards and motivate educators across Punjab.
