Punjab Approves Recruitment of 8,084 College Teaching Interns to Address Faculty Shortages
The Punjab Higher Education Department has approved the recruitment of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to help tackle faculty shortages in public sector colleges across the province.
Reserved Quotas
The allocation includes:

5% for minorities

3% for persons with disabilities
-
0.5% for the transgender community
Duration of Engagement

Intermediate Classes: CTIs will serve for seven months (October 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026)

BS Programs: Engagement will last ten months (October 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026) or until permanent staff appointments are made
Eligibility Requirements

Minimum qualification: BS or Master’s degree with at least a second division in the relevant subject

Preference given to candidates with MPhil or PhD qualifications

Academic records, higher degrees, and previous positions will contribute to the merit score

Interview performance will also be evaluated
Stipend Details

Intermediate Level: Rs. 50,000 per month

BS/Graduate Level: Rs. 60,000 per month

Payments will be transferred directly to the selected candidates’ bank accounts
Terms and Conditions

No age limit for applicants

CTIs are entitled to two casual leaves per month

TA/DA will not be provided

Placements are temporary and may be terminated in case of unsatisfactory performance

Recruitment is strictly merit-based, and the use of false documents will result in cancellation and legal action
Purpose of Recruitment
This initiative aims to provide immediate teaching support in government colleges across Punjab during the 2025-26 academic session, ensuring continuity of academic activities until permanent faculty are appointed.
