Aaron Hill Shines with Best Season Start, Stuns 2024 World Champion Kyren Wilson

23-year-old Irish snooker talent Aaron Hill is off to the best start of his career, impressing fans with a stunning run at the Wuhan Open, including a memorable victory over 2024 World Champion Kyren Wilson. Hill also secured wins in the BetVictor Northern Ireland Open and the Xi’an Grand Prix qualifiers, showcasing his rising form on the international stage.

Speaking about his season, Hill said, β€œI’m delighted with the start. Beating Kyren in Wuhan was incredible. I lost narrowly 5-4 to Zhang Anda, but there were plenty of positives to take. Winning two qualifiers this week has put me in a strong position.”

Hill thrives on challenges against top players. β€œI love playing the big names. Beating them boosts my confidence and proves I can go deep in tournaments. Playing Kyren in front of a lively crowd was fantastic – I feel I belong out there just as much as anyone.”

Hill credits coach Fergal O’Brien for his rapid improvement. β€œHaving Fergal in my corner is invaluable. He’s experienced everything on tour, analyses my matches, and supports me fully. I’m fortunate to have a great team and family backing me, which makes all the difference.”

The young star is also inspired by fellow European talents like 18-year-old Stan Moody, who reached the Wuhan quarter-finals. β€œIt’s great to see us young players challenging the established stars. I’m proud to be part of this rising generation making its mark.”

Currently ranked top 48, Hill aims to keep progressing, saying, β€œEvery season I’ve grown, and this one is my best start yet. I’ll keep pushing to reach the very top.”
