AfroBasket 2025 in Angola Set to Showcase NBA and EuroLeague Stars
The 2025 AfroBasket in Angola promises a thrilling showdown as Africaβs top basketball talent descends on Luanda and Mocamedes from 12β24 August. Featuring a mix of NBA, EuroLeague, and BAL stars, the tournament highlights the continentβs growing impact on the global basketball scene.
This yearβs edition includes 16 menβs national teams, with a star-studded lineup of both rising talents and seasoned veterans. Among the most anticipated players is Cameroonβs Yves Missi, a 2.11m (6β11β) rookie who made waves in the NBA last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Averaging 9.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks, Missi earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors and even claimed Western Conference Rookie of the Month in December.
Now making his debut for Cameroon, Missi is expected to dominate in the paint with lob finishes, chasedown blocks, and elite athleticism, becoming a key figure in his national teamβs quest for AfroBasket glory.
Other NBA and international stars, including veterans like Edy Tavares and Josh Okogie, will also bring experience and firepower, promising high-level competition and unforgettable moments for fans across Africa and beyond.
