Air Punjab Set to Take Off With Modern Aircraft

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed officials to make Air Punjab operational as soon as possible, emphasizing that the new provincial airline should begin operations with modern, comfortable aircraft on lease.
During a detailed review meeting held in Lahore, the Chief Minister was briefed on the progress of the Air Punjab project. She instructed authorities to complete Phase One immediately and ensure that all technical and operational requirements are fulfilled without delay.
The meeting also finalized the airline’s initial route between Lahore and Islamabad, marking the first operational flight corridor for Air Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the airline must provide affordable, reliable, and passenger-friendly services, adding that the project is a significant milestone in improving connectivity and economic growth across the province.
The session also reviewed updates on the Murree Glass Train Project, where the Chief Minister directed departments to accelerate implementation and ensure timely completion.
According to officials, the Punjab government plans to establish Air Punjab as a modern regional carrier that will enhance travel convenience, tourism, and trade opportunities within the province.
