Ali Carter Produces Fourth Career 147 at English Open in Brentwood

Snooker star Ali Carter delivered a moment of brilliance at the BetVictor English Open in Brentwood, producing the fourth maximum 147 break of his career during his last-32 clash with Aaron Hill.

Nicknamed The Captain, Carter completed the perfect clearance in the fourth frame to move 3-1 ahead. It marked his first maximum since the 2021 British Open and adds to his decorated career highlights.

The 147 also puts Carter in line to share the £5,000 high-break prize with opponent Hill, who had already made a maximum earlier in the tournament. Both players will split the reward at £2,500 each.

However, Hill showed remarkable composure after losing the prize lead. The young Irishman battled back impressively, edging out Carter 4-3 to seal his spot in the next round.

This achievement marks the 227th official 147 in snooker history and the 10th of the current season.
