At Least 20 Terrorists Killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations: ISPR
November 10, 2025
RAWALPINDI:
The Pakistan Army has successfully neutralized at least 20 terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 8 and 9, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.
Operations in North Waziristan and Dara Adam Khel
The first operation took place in the Shawal area of North Waziristan, where security forces eliminated eight terrorists during a precision strike based on intelligence inputs.
“During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorist hideouts, resulting in the killing of eight militants,” the ISPR confirmed in its statement.
The second IBO was conducted in Dara Adam Khel, where 12 terrorists were killed following an intense exchange of fire between security forces and militants.
According to ISPR, sanitization operations are ongoing in both regions to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining militants.
Ongoing Counter-Terrorism Efforts
The operations are part of Operation Azm-i-Istehkam, Pakistan’s renewed national counter-terrorism campaign launched under the National Action Plan (NAP). The military reiterated its commitment to eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
“The security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue operating at full pace to wipe out the menace of terrorism,” the ISPR added.
Background
The federal government approved Operation Azm-i-Istehkam in June last year, describing it as a reinvigorated and comprehensive strategy against militancy.
In a similar series of operations on October 16, security forces killed 34 terrorists in multiple raids across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underscoring Pakistan’s continued efforts to maintain internal security.
Over the past year, Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the breakdown of the ceasefire with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in late 2022.
Final Remarks
Security analysts say the latest IBOs demonstrate the military’s proactive strategy and improved intelligence coordination aimed at safeguarding national stability and restoring peace in the region.
The ISPR reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to ensuring that terrorism finds no foothold within the country.
