Rockies Snap 10-Game Skid Against Dodgers with Dramatic 4-3 Victory

The Colorado Rockies ended their 10-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, securing a thrilling 4-3 comeback win at Coors Field.

The game was decided in the ninth inning when Warming Bernabel lined a clutch single up the middle, driving in Ezequiel Tovar for the walk-off win. Tovar had started the rally with a bloop double that Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández couldn’t handle.

Earlier, Tovar also played hero in the seventh inning, blasting a solo home run to tie the game at 3-3.

With this victory, the Rockies extended their win streak to four games, improving to 36-89 on the season. Colorado now needs just six more wins in their final 37 games to avoid surpassing the 2024 Chicago White Sox’s infamous record of 121 losses in a season.

On the pitching side, Victor Vodnik (4-3) closed out the game with a perfect ninth inning, striking out Dalton Rushing while Shohei Ohtani waited on deck.

Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivered a strong performance despite a no-decision, allowing three runs across seven innings with six strikeouts. He twice surrendered leads, including on a two-run single by Ryan Ritter in the third inning and Tovar’s home run in the seventh.

Ohtani was a bright spot for the Dodgers, recording two hits, including a line-drive single in the second inning with an exit velocity of 106.5 mph.

For Colorado, starter Kyle Freeland struck out five but exited in the fifth inning due to a blister on his pitching hand after allowing two runs.

The Rockies will look to build on this momentum as they continue their homestand, while the Dodgers aim to bounce back in the next matchup.
