Bethpage Black and Oak Hill will give New York three majors in the next 10 years

PGA of America Confirms Three Major Championships in New York Through 2035

With the Ryder Cup set to return to New York for the first time in 30 years, the PGA of America has unveiled plans for three more major championships in the Empire State through 2035.

  • KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be held at Bethpage Black in 2028.

  • PGA Championship will return to Bethpage Black for the second time in 2033.

  • PGA Championship will also visit Oak Hill near Rochester in 2035 for the fifth time.

Bethpage Black, the challenging public course on Long Island, is hosting the Ryder Cup starting September 26. The course previously staged the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009.

Women’s PGA Championship Milestone

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, co-run by the PGA of America and LPGA Tour since 2015, has become a premier event in women’s golf. While the tournament has been held in New York before, this will mark the first time under the current structure that it returns to the state, highlighting the PGA’s commitment to staging events at top courses in major markets.

“Bringing the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship to Bethpage Black is a significant milestone and reflects our commitment to staging this event at premier courses in major markets,” said Don Rea Jr., PGA of America president.

This announcement adds to the excitement as the golfing world prepares for one of the sport’s biggest competitions in the U.S. this year.
