Dodgers’ bullpen blows another lead against Phillies

Dodgers Relievers Struggle Again in 9-6 Loss to Phillies

LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles Dodgers fell 9-6 to the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night, continuing their bullpen struggles as the season nears its end.

Shohei Ohtani dazzled through five hitless innings, but the Phillies broke the tie in the ninth when Rafael Marchon hit a three-run homer off Blake Treinen, giving Philadelphia the lead.

The loss highlights ongoing concerns in the Dodgers’ bullpen. Twelve of their last 19 defeats have been attributed to relievers, and the team is 6-14 in its last 20 one-run games.

Manager Dave Roberts acknowledged the issues but expressed confidence in his pitchers. “They’re not always making the pitches they need to, but it’s not a lack of effort or preparation,” Roberts said.

Treinen added, “I can promise fans we’re giving everything every night. Sometimes things just aren’t working out.”

Despite the setback, the Dodgers remain focused on closing the season strong, hoping to overcome the recent late-game hurdles.
