NHMP Announces Traffic Restrictions for Independence Day and β€œBattle of Truth” Celebrations

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has issued a detailed traffic plan ahead of Independence Day and the β€œBattle of Truth” celebrations on August 14.

According to officials, entry of heavy vehicles into Rawalpindi will be suspended from noon on August 13 until 3:00 am on August 14. Vehicles traveling from GT Road Peshawar towards Rawalpindi will be stopped at Sangjani, while traffic from GT Road Lahore will be halted at T Chowk.

The restrictions also extend to motorway traffic. Heavy vehicles from Peshawar and Lahore will not be allowed to enter Islamabad via link roads during this period.

Authorities are urging motorists to follow diversions, plan their travel in advance, and cooperate with traffic personnel along key routes to ensure smooth traffic flow.
