Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Teardown Shows Big Repair Upgrades

Google Pixel 10 Series Launched: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, XL, and Fold

Google recently unveiled its Pixel 10 lineup, featuring the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The devices went on sale in late August, with the Pixel 10 Pro XL 5G priced starting at $1,199 for the 256GB model with 16GB RAM and $1,319 for the 512GB variant.

A detailed teardown of the Pixel 10 Pro XL by Zack from the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything reveals the phone’s internal structure and shows Google’s effort to make the device more repair-friendly.

Key Improvements

  • Easier Battery Replacement: The battery design is now simpler to remove compared to previous Pixel models.

  • Screen Replacement: The screen can be replaced from the front with just a single cable connection, making repairs more convenient.

  • Back-Entry Access: Most internal components can be accessed from the back of the phone, reducing repair complexity.

While Zack praised these updates, iFixit offered a more cautious take. They acknowledged the improvements but noted that the upgrades may not be as significant as suggested. Still, the easier battery removal is seen as a positive step forward for Pixel users.

The Pixel 10 series continues Google’s trend of combining high-end performance with user-friendly design, while offering upgrades that make the phones easier to maintain over time.
