Inter Milan Crush Torino 5-0 in Serie A Opener

Inter Milan kicked off their Serie A 2025/26 season in style with a dominant 5-0 victory over Torino on Monday night. New head coach Christian Chivu couldn’t have asked for a better debut as his side showed attacking flair and defensive solidity.

The scoring started in the 17th minute when Alessandro Bastoni headed in from a corner. Soon after, Marcus Thuram doubled the lead with a well-taken strike in the 35th minute.

After the break, Lautaro Martínez capitalized on a Torino error to make it 3-0. Thuram then grabbed his second goal just past the hour mark, before Ange-Yoan Bonny sealed the emphatic win following another defensive lapse.

The performance was a statement of intent for Inter, who are determined to bounce back after narrowly missing out on the Scudetto to Napoli last season and falling to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.

Udinese and Verona Share the Points

In the earlier game, Udinese and Verona played out a 1-1 draw in a cagey encounter.

Thomas Kristensen put Udinese ahead with a header from Sandi Lovric’s corner, but Suat Serdar leveled for Verona 20 minutes later, reacting sharply inside the box after a knockdown from Giovane.

Both sides, who finished last season level on points, once again proved evenly matched in their season opener.
