Internet Down Across Pakistan – Here’s What’s Causing It [Updated]

Internet Services Disrupted Across Pakistan Due to Upstream Provider Outage

PTCL has confirmed that it is currently experiencing data connectivity issues on its PTCL and Ufone networks. According to a spokesperson, technical teams are actively working to restore services at the earliest.

The disruption has impacted internet users nationwide, with several major service providers — including PTCL, Ufone, and Nayatel — reporting interruptions. Industry sources suggest that the issue originates from an upstream service provider responsible for international internet traffic, with recent flooding across the country likely contributing to the problem.

Nayatel has officially stated that the fault in the upstream network is causing slow browsing speeds, high latency, and in some areas, a complete loss of connectivity.

Throughout the day, users have reported difficulties accessing websites and online platforms, while monitoring portal DownDetector has shown a sharp increase in outage complaints across multiple regions.

At present, no official timeline has been shared for complete restoration. However, internet companies have assured customers that engineers are coordinating with upstream partners to restore smooth connectivity as soon as possible.
