Lake Mary Little League Teams Continue Strong Run Toward World Series Titles
Lake Mary, Florida — Both the boys’ and girls’ teams from Lake Mary Little League are making headlines once again as they chase more Little League World Series glory.
Softball Team Advances Despite Monday Loss
The Lake Mary Little League Softball team kicked off their 2025 Little League Softball World Series campaign with an impressive opening-round win over the weekend.
Although the girls narrowly lost their second game to Tulsa on Monday, their journey is far from over. The tournament follows a double-elimination format, allowing the team another shot to continue their run toward the championship.
Photos shared by the Lake Mary Little League Facebook page captured the team’s unity and spirit as they rallied together before the game.
Baseball Team Heads to Southeast Regional Finals
Meanwhile, the Lake Mary 12U Baseball team continues its strong form after a big weekend win, securing a spot in the Southeast Regional Finals on Tuesday at 3 p.m. EST. This game, however, is single-elimination, meaning a victory will send them straight to the Little League Baseball World Series.
Their opponent will be determined by the outcomes of Monday’s games.
Statewide Support for the Team
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who himself played in the 1991 Little League World Series, praised the Lake Mary program, saying:
“Lake Mary is a machine.”
His support of the team goes back to last year when the Lake Mary Baseball team became the first Florida team ever to win the Little League World Series.
Following that historic win, Governor DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis invited the team to the Governor’s Mansion to celebrate their achievement.
Scholarships, Parades & Honors
In recognition of their 2024 victory, the players were each awarded a two-year Florida prepaid college scholarship to assist with future college expenses.
The team was also honored with a special Walt Disney World parade, and the Lake Mary mayor presented them with the symbolic keys to the city — a moment the community will remember for years to come.
Looking Ahead
With both Lake Mary teams still in the mix, the dream of bringing home two more championships is alive and well. Fans can follow their journey live through tournament coverage and support their hometown heroes every step of the way.
