Local Mobile Phone Production in Pakistan Rises 55% in September 2025

Pakistan’s mobile phone manufacturing industry saw a strong recovery in September 2025, with production and assembly increasing by 55 percent month-on-month to reach 3.01 million units, according to the latest data from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The report also shows a 40 percent year-on-year rise, driven by stronger consumer demand and the launch of several new smartphone models by major brands.

Analysts at Topline Research noted that sales in September 2024 were relatively low due to heavy pre-buying ahead of budget revisions, making this year’s rebound even more significant.

Recent product launches — including the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, Redmi 15 series, and Infinix Note 40X 5G — have also contributed to higher replacement and upgrade sales in the local market.

During the first nine months of 2025, local manufacturers produced 22.78 million mobile phones, slightly higher than the same period last year. Of these, 52 percent were smartphones, while 48 percent were 2G feature phones, reflecting continued demand across all segments.

Industry data further revealed that 94 percent of Pakistan’s total mobile demand was fulfilled through domestic manufacturing, showcasing the sector’s growing strength and self-reliance.

Experts predict mobile phone sales in Pakistan will continue to grow by 7–8 percent year-on-year over the next 12 months, supported by a stable exchange rate, declining inflation, and improving consumer purchasing power.

The upward trend highlights Pakistan’s progress toward becoming a key mobile manufacturing hub in the region, as local production continues to expand and attract global brands.
