PSG Announce Squad for European Super Cup Clash Against Tottenham — Donnarumma Left Out, Chevalier Set for Debut

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed their 20-man squad to face Tottenham Hotspur in the European Super Cup, with goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier preparing for his debut start. The surprise omission from the list is Gianluigi Donnarumma, sparking speculation about the club’s goalkeeping future.

Head coach Luis Enrique has selected a strong lineup featuring many of last season’s regular stars, alongside promising academy talents Ibrahim Mbaye and Noham Kamara.

Midfielder Joao Neves will miss the match due to suspension following his red card in the Club World Cup final. Meanwhile, recent signing Illia Zabarnyi is unavailable as he finalizes his registration.

Chevalier’s promotion comes during ongoing contract uncertainty surrounding Donnarumma. The Italian goalkeeper, who joined PSG in 2021 and was pivotal in their Champions League triumph last season, has yet to agree a new deal. With his contract set to expire in 2026, PSG may opt to sell him this summer to avoid a free transfer departure.

Luis Enrique’s squad choice is being interpreted as a clear indication that Chevalier will be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for the 2025/26 season.

PSG squad list: Hakimi, Beraldo, Marquinhos, Kvaratskhelia, Fabian, Gonçalo Ramos, Dembélé, Doue, Vitinha, Lee Kang-in, Hernandez, Nuno Mendes, Barcola, Chevalier, Zaire-Emery, Safonov, Kamara, Mbaye, Pacho, Renato Marin.
