Ministry Shares Update About Private Hajj Scheme

Hajj 2026: Official Bookings Complete, Private Scheme to Start Soon

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that bookings for the official Hajj scheme have been completed, while preparations for private Hajj operators are set to begin shortly.

Sources confirmed that private operators meeting all necessary documentation requirements will soon be allowed to open bookings. The ministry has urged operators to complete formalities promptly to ensure a smooth process for pilgrims.

Officials stated that private Hajj operators must sign the service provider agreement, submit a valid certificate from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, and provide proof of funds transferred to Saudi Arabia. Once these steps are completed, the ministry will issue confirmation letters, allowing bookings to commence.

To maintain transparency, a list of approved operators will be published on the ministry’s official website. Pilgrims are advised to consult this list before making any reservations.

The government approved the Hajj Policy 2026 in July, detailing quotas, costs, and operational guidelines. Pakistan’s total quota is set at 179,210 pilgrims, including 119,000 under the government scheme and 60,000 through private operators.

The estimated cost of Hajj is projected between Rs. 1.15 and Rs. 1.25 million, with the option to pay in two installments. Additionally, the government has introduced a third-party monitoring system to ensure proper oversight of both government and private Hajj schemes.
