Murree to Get Green Line Bus and Train Service for Tourists

Murree (October 1, 2025): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a series of major development projects for Murree, with a special focus on modern transport facilities and improved public services.

Green Line Bus Service for Murree

Addressing a public ceremony, the CM confirmed that a Green Line bus service will soon be launched with 15 buses. Special concessions will be offered — students, women, and senior citizens will travel free of cost.

Train Service in the Pipeline

Maryam Nawaz also revealed that a train service for Murree is under planning. The project aims to reduce the pressure of private vehicles on the hill station, ensuring easier and more eco-friendly access for tourists.

“These initiatives will provide safe, affordable, and environmentally friendly travel options for locals and visitors,” she said.

Healthcare and Infrastructure Upgrades

The Chief Minister also announced several other projects, including:

  • Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre, which has already started angiography and will soon perform cardiac surgeries.

  • A new hospital in Bhurban.

  • Upgrades in schools, along with a large-scale water supply and sanitation project to improve infrastructure.

Dedicated District Setup for Murree

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that Murree has been given separate district administration, with dedicated police, health, and education departments. A special tourism police force has also been formed to enhance the visitor experience and boost Murree’s status as a world-class tourist destination.
