NBA insider believes Russell Westbrook could be out of the league next season

Russell Westbrook’s NBA Future in Question, Sacramento Kings Emerge as Only Possible Destination

The future of former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook remains uncertain as the 36-year-old point guard faces limited options in free agency. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Sacramento Kings appear to be the only realistic landing spot if Westbrook is to continue his career in the league.

Fischer noted that while Sacramento is evaluating other roster moves, the Kings remain the most likely destination. “It’s been the one home all along that looks possible for Russell Westbrook,” Fischer said, adding there’s also a chance the veteran guard may not return to the NBA at all.

Westbrook’s career has seen a decline since his departure from the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he spent 11 standout seasons. Last year with the Denver Nuggets, he averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game — solid numbers, but below his MVP peak.

Despite questions about his age and role, the Kings reportedly view Westbrook as a potential spark off the bench and a secondary scoring option alongside Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and DeMar DeRozan.

For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Westbrook extends his storied NBA career or takes his final bow.
