PAF Outclass Army as Customs and Port Qasim Settle for Draw in CNS All-Pakistan Hockey Tournament

Lahore: The third day of the 4th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All-Pakistan Hockey Tournament 2025 witnessed exciting action at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore. Customs and Port Qasim played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, while Pakistan Air Force (PAF) dominated Pakistan Army with a commanding 4-0 victory.

The day’s matches were graced by Olympian Tahir Zaman, who praised the passion and fighting spirit of the players. He also lauded Pakistan Navy for its continued support in reviving national hockey, urging more institutions and sponsors to step forward to help restore the country’s former glory in the sport.

“Pakistan Navy’s commitment to our national game is truly commendable. With such support, I am confident we will soon see the resurgence of Pakistan hockey,” said Zaman.

Match 1: Customs 2 – 2 Port Qasim

 

The opening clash kept fans entertained from start to finish. struck early in the 3rd minute through Hassan Shahbaz. Customs responded just before halftime, with Muhammad Ahmad scoring a fine equalizer in the 30th minute.

Bilal Aslam then gave Customs the lead in the 43rd minute via a penalty corner. But Port Qasim hit back quickly, as Aleem Usman converted another penalty corner in the 45th minute to level the score. Both teams pressed for a winner, but the contest ended in a well-fought 2-2 draw.

Match 2: PAF 4 – 0 Army

The second encounter of the day saw Pakistan Air Force produce a dominant display against Army. Yasir Ali shone with two brilliant field goals in the 25th and 59th minutes.

He was supported by Abdul Manan and Rizwan Ali, who both showcased their drag-flick skills by converting penalty corners in the 28th and 43rd minutes. Army, despite their efforts, could not match PAF’s pace and sharp finishing, conceding a comprehensive 4-0 defeat.
