According to international media reports, under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas released 20 Israeli hostages in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. However, Israel deported 154 Palestinians to Egypt, where they are currently staying at a secure hotel under tight supervision and are not allowed to leave without authorization.

Sources reveal that Egypt initially accepted 150 prisoners in January, but their future remains uncertain even after several months. The exiled individuals, many of whom were serving life sentences imposed by Israeli military courts, now live in legal limbo. International human rights groups have long criticized these convictions as unjust and politically motivated.

Despite being freed, the exiled prisoners cannot work or move freely, as Egyptian authorities have yet to define their legal status. The Palestinian Authority has confirmed that it is in talks with Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, and Malaysia to explore long-term resettlement options.

Currently, all the deported Palestinians remain in Cairo, with Qatar reportedly covering their living expenses until a permanent arrangement is finalized.
