Pakistan Begin FIFA Series with Record-Breaking Win
Pakistan’s women’s football team delivered an impressive performance, securing a historic 8-0 victory over Turks and Caicos Islands in their opening match of the FIFA Series.
The match, held at Stade Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan, saw Pakistan dominate from the start, with four different players scoring in the first half to establish full control.
The team showed attacking intent early on, creating multiple chances within the opening minutes. Their efforts paid off when Zahmena Malik opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Shortly after, Aqsa Mushtaq doubled the lead, capitalizing on a rebound.

Pakistan continued to press forward, with Layla Banaras adding a third goal after a strong individual run. Mariam Mahmood then extended the lead before halftime with a well-taken finish.
In the second half, Pakistan maintained their momentum. Nadia Khan scored with a header, while Aqsa Mushtaq and Layla Banaras each added their second goals of the match. Isra Khan completed the scoring, sealing an 8-0 win.
This result marks Pakistan’s largest-ever victory in women’s international football, surpassing their previous 7-0 win against the Maldives in 2022.
Mohsen Gilani, president of the Pakistan Football Federation, praised the team’s performance and described the win as a significant milestone. He expressed optimism about the future of women’s football in the country and hoped the team would continue its strong form throughout the tournament.
