Pakistan Rejects India’s Narrative on May Conflict, Calls Claims ‘Fictional and Misleading’: ISPR
October 15, 2025
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has rejected recent statements made by Indian military officials regarding the May 2025 border conflict, calling them “fictional and misleading attempts to rewrite history.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ISPR said that India is trying to reshape the narrative of the May clashes through “exaggerated and cinematic claims,” emphasizing that Pakistan had already provided a factual account of the events.
“Contradictions in the Indian Army’s recent statements are so evident that they hardly warrant a response,” the ISPR said, adding that Pakistan’s position remains based on verified facts and operational transparency.
The May conflict began after an attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir, which New Delhi linked to Pakistan — an accusation Islamabad strongly denied, calling for an independent international investigation.
Following the escalation, both sides conducted limited strikes, which ended after international mediation led to a ceasefire agreement on May 10.
The ISPR expressed concern that Indian political and military leaders are repeating unverified claims in the lead-up to state elections, saying such rhetoric could harm regional peace and stability.
“Irresponsible statements under political pressure can increase tensions in South Asia,” the ISPR warned, calling on India to avoid “provocative narratives” and focus on confidence-building measures instead.
The statement reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully capable and prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty and that any act of aggression would receive a swift and firm response.
The ISPR also urged the international community to take note of India’s repeated use of hostile propaganda, saying that truth and transparency are essential for lasting peace in the region.
