Pakistan Sports Board Suspends Baseball Federation President Over Policy Violations
Oct 22, 2025
The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced the suspension of Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President of the Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB), over alleged violations of official regulations.
According to the PSB, the action was taken after Shah reportedly sent teams abroad without obtaining the required No Objection Certificate (NOC). The board stated that no sports team or federation is permitted to participate in international events without formal approval from the concerned authorities.
An official notification noted that the Baseball Federation had facilitated participation in tournaments held in Malaysia and Chinese Taipei earlier this year. Following an internal inquiry, the PSB issued a show-cause notice to Shah in September. However, his response was found unsatisfactory, leading to the suspension.
The PSB clarified that the decision restricts Shah from all sports-related roles and activities, though he has the right to appeal within 30 days.
This move comes amid growing tensions between the PSB and several national sports federations. The board has recently increased its oversight efforts to promote transparency and accountability within the country’s sports administration.
