Pakistan Unveils Its First Locally-Made Advanced X-Ray Machine
 Oct 24, 2025

Pakistan has achieved a major milestone in healthcare technology by developing its first locally-manufactured advanced X-ray machine, marking a big step toward self-reliance in the medical equipment sector.

Developed in collaboration with China, the state-of-the-art device — named “I Care 50X” — meets international standards in both performance and quality. Officials say its market value ranges between Rs. 20 million and Rs. 25 million, underscoring Pakistan’s growing capability in high-end medical innovation.

“This development will significantly reduce our reliance on imported medical equipment,” said officials involved in the project. “It’s a proud moment for Pakistan’s engineering and healthcare industries.”

A standout feature of the “I Care 50X” is that all its components will now be available locally, reducing maintenance costs and ensuring easier access to spare parts. This localization is expected to make diagnostic services more affordable for hospitals and clinics nationwide.

Experts believe this achievement could pave the way for further advancements in Pakistan’s medical technology manufacturing, promoting innovation, job creation, and long-term sustainability in the healthcare sector.
