Oct 28, 2025
Pakistan’s outstanding performance at the Asian Youth Games reached new heights on Monday as the national men’s volleyball team defeated Indonesia 3–1 in a thrilling semifinal. With this victory, Pakistan has advanced to the final, securing at least a silver medal — a major achievement for the country on the continental stage.
After a slow start that saw Indonesia take the first set 25–22, Pakistan bounced back with exceptional teamwork and determination, winning the next three sets 25–13, 25–19, and 26–24. The team displayed powerful attacks, strong defense, and remarkable composure under pressure.
Key players Khizar Hayat, Muhammad Yahya, Muhammad Anas, and Ajmal Junaid stood out once again, showcasing their skills in serving, blocking, and spiking throughout the tournament.
So far, Pakistan has lost only two sets in six matches — one against Saudi Arabia and another against Indonesia — highlighting their consistency and confidence heading into the final showdown with Iran on Wednesday.
Iran booked their place in the final after a convincing 3–0 win over Thailand, setting the stage for an exciting clash between two rising forces in Asian volleyball.
Pakistan has previously earned just one bronze medal in the history of the Asian Youth Games. With this latest success, the team has already made the nation proud — but their sights are firmly set on gold. A victory against Iran would mark a historic moment and signal the emergence of a new era for Pakistan volleyball.
