Pakistani Rupee Gains Against US Dollar in Interbank Market

KARACHI – The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) strengthened against the US Dollar (USD) in interbank trading on Friday, appreciating by 16 paisa to close at Rs. 282.06, compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs. 282.22, according to data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Currency Market Highlights

  • US Dollar – Down 16 paisa; closed at Rs. 282.06

  • Euro – Fell by Rs. 0.87 to close at Rs. 329.58 (previous: Rs. 330.45)

  • Japanese Yen – Gained 1 paisa, closing at Rs. 1.92

  • British Pound – Increased by 7 paisa to settle at Rs. 382.36

  • Emirates Dirham – Declined by 4 paisa to Rs. 76.79

  • Saudi Riyal – Dropped 3 paisa to Rs. 75.17

The local currency’s improvement comes amid positive market sentiment and stable foreign exchange inflows, offering a slight boost for importers and businesses dealing in international trade.
