PIA to Suspend Flights Between Lahore and Major European City

PIA to Reduce Lahore-Paris Flights, Islamabad-Paris Route Remains Active

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced it will scale back Lahore-to-Paris flights due to low passenger demand, while continuing full operations on the Islamabad-Paris route.

A PIA spokesperson confirmed that the last Lahore-Paris flights are scheduled for September 12 and September 17. The airline had launched twice-weekly direct flights from Lahore in June, but demand has not met expectations.

Meanwhile, PIA is preparing to resume flights to Manchester, UK. Two aircraft are being renovated, including one previously used for the Lahore-Paris service, to meet UK operational requirements.

The airline expects to secure “Third Country Operators” authorization by mid-September, a key step for restarting services to the United Kingdom.

After the European Union Aviation Safety Agency lifted its ban on PIA flights to Europe in November 2024, the carrier has been gradually restoring international operations.
