Polish Tauron Liga 2025-26 Season Kicks Off with Week-Long Opening Round

The 2025-2026 Women’s Tauron Liga season is all set to begin this Thursday, bringing excitement and top-tier volleyball action to fans across Poland. The opening leg of the league will run for almost a full week — from Thursday to Tuesday — featuring some of the best clubs and athletes in Polish volleyball.
Opening Match: Wrocław Hosts League Rookies
The first serve of the new season will take place on Thursday, when #VolleyWrocław face Eco Harpoon LOS Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, a team making its debut in Poland’s top division after winning the second-tier league last season. The match will begin at 17:30 local time (15:30 GMT) and promises to set the tone for an action-packed start to the season.
Top Contenders Return to the Court
On Friday, PGE Budowlani Łódź, who secured third place last season, will begin their campaign at home against ITA TOOLS STAL Mielec, who finished eighth. With national team star Paulina Damaske leading the charge, Budowlani Łódź will look to make a strong early statement.

Saturday Doubleheader to Highlight the Weekend
Saturday brings a thrilling doubleheader for volleyball fans:

LOTTO Chemik Police, 11-time national champions, will host Sokół & Hagric Mogilno at 12:30 local time (10:30 GMT). Chemik have strengthened their lineup with national team outside hitter Natalia Mędrzyk, making them one of the teams to watch this season.

Later that day, UNI Opole will face ŁKS Commercecon Łódź at 14:45 (12:45 GMT). ŁKS, last season’s runners-up, remain among the title favorites, boasting middle blocker Anna Obiała and Ukrainian opposite Anastasiia Hryshchuk in their powerful lineup.
More Action After the Weekend
After a brief break on Sunday, action resumes on Monday as Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz take on MOYA Radomka Radom at 17:30 (15:30 GMT). Both teams finished in the top six last season, with Radomka strengthening their squad through five new international signings.
Defending Champions Begin Title Defense
The final and most anticipated clash of the opening round will be played on Tuesday, featuring defending champions KS DevelopRes Rzeszów against BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała, the reigning Polish Supercup champions.
DevelopRes, led by setter Katarzyna Wenerska, libero Aleksandra Szczygłowska, and Dutch outside hitter Marrit Jasper, will aim to kick off their title defense in style. Their rivals Bielsko-Biała, featuring national team middle blocker Aleksandra Gryka and Estonian opposite Kertu Laak, will look to upset the champions on home soil.
Season Roadmap
The Tauron Liga regular season will continue until March 21, 2026, after which the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs to compete for Poland’s most prestigious volleyball crown.
