PSA Squash Tour Sets Record with Over $12.5 Million in Player Compensation for 2024-25 Season

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) has announced a historic milestone for the sport, with a record-breaking $12,534,421 in total player compensation offered during the 2024-25 season — marking an impressive 18.4% increase over the previous year.

📈 Growth Driven by New Tour Structure

This unprecedented figure follows the successful launch of the new PSA Squash Tour structure, which officially began in August 2024. Designed to support the sport’s global growth ahead of its highly anticipated Olympic debut at the LA28 Games, the new structure has delivered greater stability and expanded opportunities for professional squash players.

A record 1,019 tournaments were held during the season, showcasing the sport’s growing global appeal.

👏 Equal Growth in Men’s & Women’s Compensation

  • Women’s prize money reached $5,916,910, a 22.3% increase from the previous season.

  • Men’s earnings totaled $6,617,511, up 15.1% year-on-year.

The season also marked a notable milestone for gender equality, as World No.1 Nouran Gohar earned $400,045, making her the top-earning female player — closely followed by Mostafa Asal, the highest-earning male, with $400,686.

🌍 Global Reach and Increased Events

  • 606 men’s events and 413 women’s events were held worldwide.

  • Tournaments were staged in 70 countries, with Sri Lanka hosting a PSA event for the first time.

A total of 81 World Events took place (up 37.3% from 2023-24), along with 215 Challenger Events and 720 Satellite & Federation Events, reflecting a comprehensive and inclusive calendar.

💬 PSA CEO: A Season to Remember

“The 2024-25 campaign was one of the most competitive and exciting seasons in living memory,” said PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough. “We are especially proud to see near-equal prize money for the top male and female players, highlighting our deep commitment to equality in squash.”

He added that the PSA is on track to meet the compensation goals set out in their strategic roadmap.
