LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced the reinstatement of board examinations for Grade 8 students across the province, marking a significant shift in educational policy.

The decision was revealed by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat during a recent meeting of the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA) Board of Governors, according to a local news report.

An Academic Committee for Online Tech Education has been assigned the responsibility of maintaining high-quality content throughout this digital transformation.


📦 Focus on Textbook Delivery and Dropout Prevention

Rana Sikandar Hayat also directed authorities to ensure timely printing and delivery of textbooks for the upcoming academic year. He issued a stern warning that no delays will be tolerated, given the critical impact on students’ learning continuity.

To combat middle school dropout rates, the government aims to improve teacher training, focusing on data-driven evaluations from past performance.
