Punjab Launches Electric Green Bus Service in Sargodha Division from August 14
In a significant move toward sustainable transportation, the Punjab government has announced the launch of a modern electric green bus service in the Sargodha division, offering an affordable and eco-friendly public transport option for residents.
According to Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Khalid Mahmood, the first phase of the project will see the deployment of:

48 electric buses in Sargodha

12 in Khushab

6 each in Mianwali and Bhakkar
The new electric bus service is scheduled to begin operations on August 14, coinciding with Pakistan’s Independence Day.
In a move to support vulnerable communities, the Punjab government has also announced free travel on these buses for:

Senior citizens

Persons with disabilities

Students
Officials stated that the project is part of the provincial government’s broader vision to upgrade public transport and promote cleaner, greener mobility solutions.
