Realmuto, Schwarber and Stott homers power Phillies to a 6-4 win over Mariners

(Sports Correspondent: Imran Sohail)
J.T. Realmuto’s eighth-inning, two-run home run helped the Philadelphia Phillies secure a 6-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night, with Kyle Schwarber and Bryson Stott also going deep.

Realmuto launched a no-doubt blast to left field off Seattle reliever Matt Brash, marking his ninth homer of the season. He reached base three times and finished with three RBIs, including an RBI single and a rare catcher’s interference call on Mariners’ Mitch Garver, the Phillies’ third such call in a month.

Schwarber set the tone early, opening the scoring in the first inning with his 44th homer, leading the National League in home runs and MLB in RBIs with 104. Stott added his eighth homer, while Bryce Harper contributed an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

On the mound, David Robertson earned the win in relief during his first appearance at Citizens Bank Park since the 2022 World Series, and Jhoan Duran closed out the game with a perfect ninth inning for his 22nd save of the season with Philadelphia.

Seattle had contributions from Randy Arozarena and Eugenio Suarez, each with RBI doubles, but the Mariners have now lost four straight games and six of seven. Bryce Miller returned from the injured list to start for Seattle, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings.

MLB home run leader Cal Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks, sitting just one home run shy of the single-season MLB record for catchers with 47 homers.

This win highlights Philadelphia’s powerful lineup and timely hitting, keeping the Phillies in contention as the season progresses.
