Royce Lewis Powers Twins to 12-3 Win Over Angels
Minnesota Twins dominated the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night, with Royce Lewis hitting two home runs and driving in four runs to lead a 12-3 victory.
The Twins improved to 4-0 against the Angels this season, outscoring them 33-7. Los Angeles struggled defensively, committing four errors, including two by third baseman Yoan Moncada.
Lewis’ first homer barely cleared the center-field wall, grazing the glove of Bryce Teodosio in the second inning. James Outman also went deep for the Twins, adding to their offensive firepower.
Pitching was solid for Minnesota, as Simeon Woods Richardson (6-4) allowed three runs while striking out six over five innings. Travis Adams contributed 1 2/3 innings of relief with four strikeouts.
Offensively, Luke Keaschall added an RBI single, Matt Wallner hit a two-run double, and Austin Martin doubled and scored three runs. Despite the strong showing, the Twins were 4-for-18 with runners in scoring position, leaving 10 men on base.
The Angels’ starter Caden Dana (0-1) struck out a career-high nine but walked five and allowed five runs over 4 2/3 innings. Sebastián Rivero recorded an RBI double in his first MLB game in nearly three years.
