Sindh Reveals Launch Date of Pink Taxi Scheme for Women

Sindh Government to Launch Pink Taxi Scheme for Women in December

The Sindh government has confirmed that its much-awaited Pink Taxi Scheme for Women will be launched in December, according to Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon.

Announcement by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced the initiative during a ceremony in Karachi, where the government also distributed free electric Pink Scooters to women.

At the event, Bilawal personally handed over keys to the recipients and explained that the project is designed to help female students and working women overcome daily travel challenges in a safer and more convenient way.

Additional Welfare Measures

Bilawal also highlighted other steps taken by the Sindh government, such as the Benazir Hari Card scheme, which provides financial assistance to small farmers affected by recent floods.

The Pink Taxi service is expected to complement these initiatives by improving mobility options for women across the province.
