Amanara, Brunei and Calatagan Shine in Terralpa Silver Cup Finals at Ayala Polo Club

The Terralpa Silver Cup wrapped up at Ayala Polo Club, Sotogrande, from 15–16 August, featuring thrilling High, Medium, and Low Goal Finals.

Brunei Triumph in Medium Goal Final

On 15 August, the Medium Goal Final saw Brunei face Electric Polo on Los Pinos Grounds. Electric Polo started strong with a 7-2 lead by halftime, but Brunei fought back, tying the score 8-8 in the fifth chukka. In the final minutes, Rosendo Torreguitar scored the decisive goal, giving Brunei victory.

  • Best Playing Pony: Irenita Narración, ridden by Custodio Eleno.

Calatagan Defend Low Goal Title

On 16 August, Calatagan took on La Capilla in the Low Goal Final. Holding a narrow lead throughout, Calatagan pulled away in the final chukka with help from Ciro Urturi, who scored five goals. They secured a 12-8 win, successfully defending their title for the second year.

Amanara Clinch First High Goal Title

Later the same day, Amanara faced Black Bears in the High Goal Final. Despite an early challenge, Amanara took control from the second chukka and maintained their momentum, even after a substitution in the fourth chukka. They held off Black Bears’ comeback attempt, sealing a 12-9 victory and earning their first-ever title in Spain.

  • Key Players: Barto Castagnola, Lorenzo Chavanne, Beltrán Laulhé, and Nicky Sen (substituted by Marty Romualdez).

The Terralpa Silver Cup Finals concluded in style, setting the stage for the Gold Cup, which began on 18 August and runs until 30 August as part of the 54th International Polo Tournament.
