Illia Zabarnyi Joins Paris Saint-Germain in €66 Million Transfer from Bournemouth

Paris Saint-Germain has officially signed Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi from Bournemouth for a reported fee of €66 million, including bonuses. Zabarnyi has committed to a five-year contract with PSG, keeping him at the club until June 2030.

The transfer concludes a long negotiation process, with an initial agreement reached in June and finalized in mid-August between the two clubs.

Trained at Dynamo Kyiv, Zabarnyi brings valuable experience despite his young age. He played 84 matches for Dynamo Kyiv before moving to the Premier League, where he featured in 81 games over three seasons with Bournemouth. There, he formed a strong defensive partnership alongside Dean Huijsen. The 22-year-old also boasts 47 international caps for Ukraine.

At PSG, Zabarnyi faces the challenge of establishing himself alongside the successful defensive duo of Willian Pacho and Marquinhos. This move marks an important step as he begins a new chapter with the reigning European champions in Paris.
